Welcome to Robot Chaos at the 5th annual “Gobble Squabble”! This event is for both experienced hobbyists and new participants. This event is a production of Monumental Impact (a STEM education non-profit) with the support of the UCCS College of Engineering. The venue is located in the middle of the UCCS main campus about 3 minutes off of I-25 in Colorado Springs, with convenient access to extensive nearby services.
The event will feature 2 Classes: Plastic Antweight (1 lb) and Open Beetleweight (3 lb). We're planning for up to 24 robots total (please contact me directly if you’re interested in Open Antweight too; with enough interest we’ll arrange something). The SPARC rules will apply, including the specifics for Plastic Antweights in Section 16.3 (bots found not to comply with the Plastic rules during inspection will not be allowed to participate). Each Class will run in its own double-elimination bracket and the final results reported to RCE. We plan to use the Colorado Combat Robotics 8’x8’ arena if possible – otherwise a 6’x6’ arena will be used. Each participant will have either a full or half table for their pit, with access to power nearby (tip: bring a multi-outlet strip and a short extension cord, just to be sure.)
Contact: mike@monumentalimpact.org
Fees: $20 per team to help cover event costs. (UCCS students are exempt from this fee.) Anyone is welcome to watch the event at no cost.
The Gobble Squabble is an applied-STEM showcase that features robotics and other competitions. In addition to Robot Chaos, a large FTC Robotics scrimmage and other events will take place at the same time in the venue. Robot Chaos and FTC scrimmage matches will be interspersed for constant robot action.
