Schedule
8:00 AM – Doors open
8:30 AM – Registration, weigh‑in, safety checks
9:30 AM – Drivers’ meeting & rules review / brackets finalized
10:00 AM – Fights begin
~12:00 PM – Lunch break (1 hour)
1:00 PM – Costume contest
1:15 PM – Fights resume
~3:00 PM – Short break (30 min)
3:30 PM – Semifinals & finals
~4:45 PM – Awards ceremony
~5:00 PM – Event wrap‑up & facility reset
***break times may shift to keep fights on time.
Registration & Fees
- Entry fee: $20 per robot, spectators free
- Team size: No maximum; max 2 team members in control area during matches
- Pits: Tables and chairs provided
- Power: Bring your own extension cords and power strips
- Class caps: 16 spots per class; waitlist enabled if full

Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be for sale on site.
Classes & Weight Limits
- Full Combat Antweight (1 lb base)
- Shufflers: 1.25 lb
- Non‑traditional locomotion: 1.5 lb
- True walkers: 2.0 lb
- Plastic Antweight (1 lb base)
- Same locomotion allowances as above
- Structural plastics: ABS, ASA, PLA, PLA+, PETG only (no composite/blend filaments like CF‑PLA or glass‑filled ABS)
- Non‑plastic parts may NOT enhance structure, armor, or weapons
- TPU/foam/rubber/silicone/urethane allowed for wheels and padding
- Fairyweight (150 g base)
- Shufflers and Non‑traditional locomotion: 225 g
- True walkers: 300 g
Tournament Format
- Default: Round‑Robin for brackets with 5 or fewer participants
- Modified Double Elimination for brackets with 6 or more participants (one‑match final)
- Match length: 3:00 minutes
Judging
SPARC Judging Guidelines v1.2:
Damage (4 points): Functional impact by match end
- Engagement: Who dictated the flow of the match (combines aggression/control)
- KOs, Tap‑Outs, Count‑Outs
- KO= 10‑second immobilization or tap‑out
- Judges’ decision only if no KO at the horn
Arena
- Hexagonal arena, 3 ft sides, 3 ft walls
- Plywood floor with grip texture
- Fully enclosed with 6 mm polycarbonate
Safety Requirements
- Power switch or removable link
- LED indicator for robot power
- Weapon locks must be clearly visible and effective whenever outside the arena
- Batteries must be charged in firesafe bags
- All bots must pass safety and weight inspection
- No spin‑ups or destructive testing outside the arena
Costumes
- Bring the Halloween spirit! Builder and robot costumes are encouraged.
- Contests will be held for Best Bot Costume and Best Builder Costume.
- Bot costumes removed before fights do not count toward weight.
- If a bot costume stays on during fights, it counts toward weight and must not pose an entanglement hazard.
- Personal costumes must not impair vision or mobility, and must not risk knocking over equipment. Keep it spooky, not unsafe.
